After seeing the new Wuthering Heights Movie (2026)...


I was absolutely blown away by how visually gorgeous the cinematography, set design, costuming, and overall visuals of the movie, that I just knew I needed to do a photoshoot. Now, I never read the book, so I can't speak to the story... BUT from a photographer's point of view, it was stunningly beautiful. Charli XCX's soundtrack was the perfect pairing as well, and if you haven't listened yet, definitely go check it out!


It had been a long time since I've done a creative shoot, just for the fun of it, and I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to re-ignite that spark. Creative shoots are a great way to experiment with different lighting, try new set designs, and just play around, as well as finding new ideas to incorporate into my client shoots.


I was lucky enough to connect with Adrianna, my lovely muse, and a new aspiring model on Instagram, and knew she would be perfect for this shoot. She was amazing! She was enthusiastic, professional, and such a delight to work with. I highly recommend her to other photographers looking for someone to collaborate with on a creative shoot, for a project, or to build up your portfolio. She absolutely embodied the exact mood I was looking for, and brought this vision to life. I am beyond obsessed with how the final images turned out.

The Inspiration

I took inspiration from various costumes and scenes from the movie itself, as well as some of Margot Robbie's fabulous red carpet looks during the promo tour.


Here are some of my favorites:

The first look I knew I wanted to re-create as soon as I saw it, was Cathy's wedding night outfit. I found some almost identical organza fabric on Amazon and added to cart immediately. My next step was reaching out to one of my FAVORITE local shops in Ballard, called ThreadHunter. I am a frequent shopper, and the owner, Elissa messages me when she thinks she has cool pieces for my Studio Wardrobe. I've gotten so many AMAZING pieces for my client closet from her, and if you get the chance, you should absolutely go visit her store.


I'll be doing another creative shoot collaboration with Elissa later this month, and I'm so excited to share the results from that as well, so stay tuned!


Of course, as always, ThreadHunter delivered. I got the incredible red skirt, black lace dress, black corset, as well as some other awesome pieces to add to my wardrobe. I also got the beautiful embroidered top for "The Wedding" look from there a few months ago!


My next stop was Buffalo Exchange, also in Ballard, where I got the ruffled white top, which was just perfection with the red skirt and black corset. And along with some other pieces from my Studio Wardrobe, some florals, and other fabrics, we were good to go!


Obviously, some of the looks from the shoot are more loosely inspired than others, but overall, I love how everything turned out. I think we were able to capture the mood and vibe of the movie, and turn it into a fashion editorial version.
